Responsibilities: Coordinating the planning and organization of a summit involving CCSU Teacher Education Students, youth theater performances, graduate student research posters, keynote speaker Dr. Dianne deVrise (CCJEF), and a panel of superintendents.

Title V Delinquency Prevention Program (New Britain)

            Annual budget from 2011-2012: $84,000

Responsibilities: Authored the Local Delinquency Prevention Plan; assisted the lead author, Nancy Puglisi, in writing the proposal; member of the Prevention Plan Board, established under the grant; project director for Nonviolence Conflict Reconciliation Training.

            Responsibilities: Project director; lead author on proposal; lead project evaluator.

New Britain Community Foundation: New Britain Youth Theater After-School Program

Responsibilities: Co-authored the proposal, coordinated CCSU interns, and conducted a program evaluation for the New Britain Youth Theater After-School Program at Smith Elementary School.

Responsibilities: Assisted the lead author in writing the proposal for the Lagee Children’s Center (Bethlehem, West Bank) and provided direction in clarifying the project outcomes and aligning these outcomes to the call for proposals.

Responsibilities: Developed multimedia curricula and curriculum-based measurement systems designed to train pre- and in-service principals to use data to make instructional decisions.

Progress Monitoring Centers: Model Demonstration Centers on Progress Monitoring

U.S. Department of Education, Office of Special Education Programs (OSEP)

Annual budget from 2006-2009: $296,318

Responsibilities: Served as the project supervisor at Gilham Elementary School, Eugene, OR. Designed reading comprehension passages for middle-school level progress monitoring assessments. Assessed (a) letter names and sounds, (b) phoneme segmentation and blending, (b) word and sentence reading, (d) oral reading fluency of passages, and (d) comprehension at various school sites involved in the project.  

Project INFORM: Instantiating Frameworks of Organized Responsive Measurement

U.S. Department of Education, Technology and Standards-based Reform

Annual budget from 2006-09: $298,000

Responsibilities: Aligned the state test with the state standards for both the standard and the alternative assessment for Alaska. Provided direction in validating the entire process of understanding the constructs of achievement and their systemic relationships by using multiple sources of data.

Project SIG: State Improvement Grant Evaluation: Evaluation of the Oregon State Improvement Grant

            Oregon Department of Education (ODE)

            Annual budget from 2001-2006: $65,000

Responsibilities: Analyzed (a) reading instruction in intermediate elementary schools, (b) efforts to include students with disabilities in large-scale testing programs (without accommodations, with accommodations, with modifications of the standard test, using the extended measures, and participating in a juried assessment), and (c) efforts to recruit people into the profession of teaching and to retain teachers as a career choice.
